Sherston has come top of the Wiltshire 2009 Key Stage 2 SATs league tables which grade pupils' performance in English, Maths, and Science. Every pupil achieved the level 4 which is the government standard for a proportion of the class, and many exceeded it. Head teacher Nick Bowditch is very proud of everyone's hard work and the good relationships through the school which supported their achievement. Read the full story HERE

Willow Class bring in the crab apples with advice from Guy Tullberg and Liz Cuff from Tracklements. This year's apples came from trees along the top of the Cliff, by kind permission of the Sidebottom family. While it may be a 'thin' harvest this year, the school will still get 25p. per jar sold after the apples have been boiled, strained, and turned into crab apple jelly. The class study how the jelly is made and run classroom projects on the production process.
Sherston has a new, purpose-built, seven-classroom school to be proud of. The seventh classroom has just been added so that each year group can have their own dedicated space. The school has every modern facility, including an IT suite and music tuition rooms. With space now for over 200 pupils there is room to grow.
Congratulations to Hannah Clegg from Malmesbury and who was one of the winners of the RHS Olympic Park Great British Garden Competition. Designs were chosen from over 200 entries and voted on by 4,000 members of the public. The winners are appointed as official designers for the ‘Great British Garden’ that will sit within the London 2012 Park. Read the full story HERE
Sherston is a beautiful North Wiltshire village, 10 minutes from M4 J17, and about 5.5 miles from both Malmesbury and Tetbury. The village sits between branches of the River Avon, and honours John Rattlebone, a Saxon warrior who fought for King Edmund Ironside against the Danish Canute in a local battle in 1016. Holy Cross in Sherston Magna, a large and splendid church steeped in history. Pupils visit for project work and participate in festivals such as Harvest and Christmas.
